Here’s a fun little interview with Michele:

Where are you from?
Born and raised in good old Fort Worth, TX!
How did you start in photography?
I was interested in photography all through high school. The year after I graduated I was able to finally invest in some quality equipment, and start pursuing portrait photography as an amateur. One thing led to another and, within a year of getting into photography, I was keeping myself quite busy – and started shooting weddings, too! That was over three years ago, and the rest is history!

What is your favorite blog?
Two words – Pioneer. Woman. She cooks, she writes, she’s funny, and she takes pretty pictures. Basically, I want to be her when I grow up.
Southern Weddings blog is a close second. Love me some good old fashioned southern style!
Do you have any pets?
Yes! My roommate and I just adopted a little kitten from the humane society. His name is Joey (“Friends” reference) and he is the cutest, softest, cuddliest little kitty ever.

What is your favorite store?
Target! It’s a good catch-all, and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve scoured their clearance clothing racks and scored the best deals. Plus, most of them have Starbucks inside. win-win-win!
What are you thankful for?
An incredibly loving (and crazy ;) ) family, friends who encourage me on a daily basis, a God who loves me despite all my shortcomings, seeing new places, running, coffee, scarves, and dark chocolate – to name a few!

What is your favorite food?
As silly as it sounds, I loooove smoothies. When I started intentionally eating more nutritionally a few years ago, smoothies were my favorite way to eat healthy but feel like I was treating myself. Plus, they’re the best way to start or end any hot summer day in Texas!
What is your favorite part of the wedding day?
Without a doubt – the first time the bride and groom see each other. I know that may be cliche, but it really is one of the most special things to witness on a wedding day. Whether it’s when the bride is walking down the aisle or the couple is doing a “first look,” I love that moment when the two of them look at each other and you can just feel them thinking, “WE’RE ABOUT TO BE MARRIED.” It’s the best. I am not typically an emotional person, but every time without fail in that moment, I become the world’s biggest softy.
What would your ideal day be like?

I’m not exactly a morning person, so it would definitely include a chill morning – slowly waking up, sipping coffee and reading in my PJs for a bit. I think it might also include going on a random adventure with friends, just driving and exploring, and taking pictures along the way of course! Really though – if it includes spending quality time with anyone in my life that I love, I would consider it a good day.

Recipe: Angel Hair in a Red Wine Sauce

If you’ve read our blog for a while you know by now how addicted we are to Netflix. In fact we have blogged about it here, here, here, here, here, and here. Yep, we probably watch too much T.V. Well our most recent addiction is with Curtis Stone and his series called Take Home Chef. He really is quite inspiring and it’s never good to watch the show while we are hungry! Needless to say it inspired me (Jeremy) to whip up something of my own. One of my absolute favorite meals is good ol’ fashioned spaghetti! I love me some carbs. So the other night I made my own meat sauce and topped it off with zucchini. The picture is from Instragram, so be sure to follow us @JeremySchmucker, and @KristinSchmucker – enjoy!!!

Ingredients:

1 lb. Angel Hair Noodles

1/2 lb Extra Lean Ground Beef (93%)

4 small cans of tomato sauce

1 medium can of diced tomatoes

2 tbs. brown sugar

2 tbs butter

1/4 cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil

1 tbs. minced garlic

Oregano

Red Cooking Wine

One Zucchini

1/3 packet of Savory Herb and Garlic Lipton Soup Mix

Directions:

Melt butter in a large skillet. Next place the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, red cooking wine (less than 1/4 cup. Add to taste.), brown sugar, garlic, oregano (add to preference), and olive oil together in skillet. Heat on high. In a separate pan cook the ground beef until browned, then add to the sauce.

In a separate pan place a small amount of olive oil and water in the pan and mix in the sliced zucchini. Next, mix the oil/water around the zucchini and lightly add the soup mix overtop the zucchini as a flavoring.

Finally, pour the spaghetti sauce over the angel angel hair and place a few zucchini on top! YUMMY!!!

We actually were quite surprised at how delicious this was! In fact, my last three meals have been spaghetti! Hope y’all enjoy!

Texas Star Golf Course Wedding | Courtney + Alex

Courtney and Alex are such a sweet couple, and had an adorable and fun wedding at the Texas Star Golf Course in Euless, TX.  Jeremy had the opportunity to second shoot this adorable wedding this past year with  Katie, who is another local photographer.  Courtney and Alex had an adorable first look which gave them lots of time to get lovely images of the two of them. How cute are these two!

She is GORGEOUS!!!

Behind the Scenes

This is one of those super embarrassing, behind the scenes posts. I admit…I love seeing all my photographer friends post their silly behind the scenes pictures, but we have never done it. Mostly due to the fact that shooting weddings is hard work, and I think there is an unspoken rule that if there are amazing images…the photographer is looking not so amazing…lol So yes, this post is a bit embarrassing and we don’t look all that great in most of these pictures….but it’s fun. We love what we do, and all the couples we get to photograph.

This post just shows you have an eye for details. And it’s those little details–how the dress falls, where they’re looking, the lighting/angling–all make your pictures amazing! :)
