Shady Oaks Country Club Wedding | Annie + Paul

These two are just adorable together, we loved watching the way they looked at each other and made each other laugh throughout the day. Annie and Paul’s wedding was the picture of elegance. Annie is a classic beauty and her wedding reflected that with a modern twist. We loved some of the thoughtful details throughout the day such as the stationary that Annie designed and the display of their mother’s and grandmother’s wedding gowns at their reception.

Annie and Paul, Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your wedding. We hope that you love these images as much as we do and that they will help you remember this amazing day!

Kristin’s Book List | October 2013

We are just coming off an incredibly busy September and October, but I managed to squeeze in a few books this month. Here is what I read. As always, I always love hearing your recommendations, leave a comment and let me know what you are loving!

Women Living Well | Courtney Joseph

I recieved a free copy of this book to review and I was so pleased with the book. The tag line of the book pretty much sums up what it is about” ” Finding Joy in God, Your Man, Your Kids and Your Home”.  I loved the down to earth style that Courtney wrote the book with, it felt more like talking to an old friend than reading a how to book. The content of the book was very relevant and really focussed on how putting God first will help you put all of your priorities in order. She talks about how as women it is no longer “the norm” to live a set apart life that focuses on our faith and our family, and about the criticism that she has received for choosing to play a traditional role in her family. I love even the way that she orders the topics in her book, talking first about our relationship with God as the very most important thing and following that with chapters on marriage, and then family, and ending with chapters about making our house a home. She does a great job of communicating what our priorities as Christian women need to be, and giving her own insights on how to keep those priorities straight in day to day life. I would definitely recommend this book for the wife and mom who is feeling like she needs some help balancing and putting her priorities in order in her day to day life. It was very helpful and very encouraging.

20 and Counting and A Love That Multiplies | Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar

I am combining my review for these two books because I read the two of them in a matter of days and I feel like they just go together. I had the privilege of attending a ladies conference and getting to hear Michelle speak as well as getting to meet the whole Duggar family and I can say that they are some of the sweetest most genuine people I have ever met. These two books are filled with “their story” as well as a ton of practical tips for life and raising s family. Although they are viewed as a bit of an unconventional family because of the amount of children that they have, they have so much to offer to those looking to raise children. The thing I loved most about Michelle’s speaking as well as the content of these two books is that they are just so practical. Instead of simply talking about their faith, they give practical ways to live it out, and to apply it to raising a family. If you are looking to raise children intentionally I think these are a great resource.

How do you sign up to review books? I’d like to do that once we get back to the States. :)

City Club Wedding Fort Worth | Lizzie and Chris

Lizzie and Chris’ wedding was simply unique. From the start to finish these two put into place a Hollywood movie-themed wedding that would be like no other. The ceremony was held at the Palace Cinema across the street from their reception venue, the City Club of Fort Worth. Trey and the Tritones provided live music during the reception was a perfect touch! Our associate Photographer, Michele, did a great job of capturing this elegant celebration! Thank you Lizzie + Chris for allowing us to capture your day, we hope you enjoy these images as much as we do.

Classic Oaks Ranch Wedding | Katie + Michael

About 4 years ago only two weeks apart from each other Katie and Michael both moved to New York City to follow job offers in the city. For three years though they never knew each other, which is easy to understand in a city so large. I can only imagine how many times they passed each other on the busy streets without even seeing each other. They even attended churches that were just across the street from each other, without ever seeing each other. When friends separately convinced them to try online dating they both reluctantly agreed. Katie was skeptical and only signed up for one month, but Michael thought he would take what seemed like the more logical option and pay for the three month membership which was cheaper per month. Well, he didn’t end up needing the three month membership because the first person that he connected with was Katie. Once they met, they both just knew…and if you are ever around them you would know too. It is so easy to see how much they love each other. In fact, when they first started dating their friends used to count how many times on a single night they would kiss each other. Michael is from Egypt, and works in finance, and Katie is a Texas girl who moved to the city to work in fashion, their worlds seemed totally separate, but thankfully their paths crossed.

Katie and Michael’s wedding was as dreamy as their love story. They married on a beautiful ranch which was the perfect nod to Katie’s Texas roots, but fatefully the ranch is also home to camels which was the perfect reminder of Michael’s home in Egypt. Lovely decor, dear family and friends, cowboys and camels, and the gorgeous Texas sky all came together for this magical day…but nothing could compete with the love that was so evident from Katie and Michael. It is rare in this world to see a couple so in love and so perfect for each other as these two.

Katie + Michael, We love you two! Thank you for letting us be a part of this journey. We are so thankful to know the two of you. It was not hard to capture the love between the two of you, because it overflows for all to see. We hope that Dubai was fabulous, and we can’t wait to see you both soon!

A&M Gardens Wedding | Callie + Jim

Callie and Jim are such a fun couple and we knew that their fairytale wedding would be no different. We had so much fun with these two getting to be a part of their lovely wedding at A&M Gardens in Azle, it was the perfect backdrop for their perfect day. We loved the little touches throughout the day from Belletrist Design Loft that made the wedding so personal and meaningful to Callie and Jim.
